Neck Lift Procedure
Neck Lift Procedure
How does a neck lift procedure work?
The surgical procedure typically takes around 2-3 hours to complete under general or local anaesthesia with intravenous sedation.
Dr. Golger or Dr. Romy will create two incisions around the ears to lift and trim away loose skin and tissue. An additional incision is made beneath the chin for the remodelling of neck muscles. In some cases, liposuction is used to remove excess fat from this area.
What should I expect after a neck lift procedure?
After completing your procedure, dressings are applied to the treatment area. We may prescribe an elastic garment for support and healing purposes that should be worn for the first few days, post-op. Any discomfort experienced can be managed with the prescription medication that we provide. You can expect to see some swelling and bruising, but these side effects will subside and you can appreciate the healed results of your neck lift within a few weeks.
The recovery time from a neck lift surgery can vary depending on the extent of the surgery. Patients can generally return to their normal routine within just 1-2 weeks.
What are some of the risks associated with a neck lift?
As with facelifts, brow lifts and any other surgical procedure, there will be inherent risks and considerations that accompany a neck lift procedure. Some general but possible adverse events are infection, delayed healing and changes in sensitivity. Further details regarding risks and complications will be reviewed with you during your consultation.
